The Therapist

Olga Lipadatova

Olga Lipadatova,
M.A., A.T.P.Q

Born in the former Soviet Republic of Moldavia, I grew up in a quite multi-ethnic family. At age 18, I went on to Moscow where I later obtained a Master of Science and Arts in History from Moscow State University. During that period I participated in several archeological expeditions, thought in the History Department of Moscow State University, and ran a studio for parents and children experiencing learning and psychological difficulties.

Arriving in Canada in 1997 I chose to reside in Montreal and opted to go back to university to specialize in Art Therapy. I was granted a BA in Western Society and Culture in 2000 and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy in 2002 at Concordia University. I was mostly involved in community work since 2003, also holding a private practice. I also was involved as a board member of the Association des art-thérapeutes du Québec (AATQ), and continued working and exhibiting as an artist.

My creative workshops at community organizations (Friends for Mental Health, West Island, ALPABEM in Laval, centre Cigogne in Outremont) are based on an art therapy approach. I often incorporate Archetypal material and Fairy-tales into the workshops. At the present moment I am focusing more on developing a private therapeutic centre AION, where several creative therapists and counselors are offering a variety of therapeutic modalities.

Since 2002 my additional training includes Brain Gym, neurobiological studies, body-movement work, psychodrama, psychoanalytic group therapy and Sandplay Therapy.

I am a member of the following professional associations, whose guidelines and codes of ethics I respect:
